Start with CUBE rub-on lubricant over a clean, dry chain, and then apply heat with the included mini heat gun. In only a few minutes, you have a fully waxed chain that is very quiet, with all the benefits of a full immersion waxed chain.
For decades, riders who want top performance removed their chain and immersed it into a pot of melted wax. While not overly complex, lubricating your chain with wax used to requires a lot of steps that most riders deemed too complex. As one tech editor stated, "the juice was not worth the squeeze" in immersion waxing.

CUBE's Soft Block was engineered from the start to be a rub-on lubricant!
This is key, as the Soft Block* lets you quickly spread CUBE's eco-friendly lubricants easily onto the chain. With hard paraffins, or even our own SIMPLYFAST for Bike wax lubricants, rubbing these onto the surface of a chain only creates a flaky mess. Using CUBE, the lubricant spreads quickly and holds onto the chain. Applying hot air quickly liquifies CUBE where it penetrates the plates and rollers just as with a melt-pot.
Without heat, we instruct that CUBE should only be applied on the inside of the chain, as the pressure from the cassette and crank teeth push the lubricant into the chain as you ride.
When using the Hot Melt System, we recommend rubbing CUBE on both the inside and outside of the chain (top and bottom, not the sides-see photos) to get penetration of the lubricants into the plates and rollers when heat is applied. Let the wax cool and harden for about 5-8 minutes, and you are ready to ride!
CUBE with heat will reactivate any residual base wax, while providing you with a freshly waxed chain that is smooth, clean and very quiet! Users report obtaining 200-250 miles of top performance with CUBE with the heat gun application.

Bicycle must be securely supported in a work stand or similar to prevent bike from moving during application. Do not apply if any part of the bicycle is moving. When working on E-Bikes, you must remove the battery prior to using CUBE.
Heat gun produces a small area of very high heat,(500 degrees or more) capable of burning the skin or damaging frame / components if mis-used. User is responsible for the proper use and operation of the heat element which requires careful use and adult application.
