Start with CUBE rub-on lubricant on a clean, dry chain, and then apply heat with the included mini heat gun. In a few minutes, you have a fully waxed chain that is very quiet, shifts rapidly, and seals your chain against dirt and debris!
For decades, for top performance riders have removed their chain and immersed it into a vat of melted wax. This is what our SIMPLYFAST for BIKE is made for. While not overly complex, it is a lot of steps, and very few riders are willing to put in the extra steps to obtain a melt-waxed chain. Thanks to CUBE's easy rub-on wax lubrication, getting a melt-waxed chain has never been so easy!
CUBE's Soft Block was engineered from the start to be a rub-on lubricant. This is very important, as it lets you quickly spread CUBE's eco-friendly lubricants easily onto the chain. With hard paraffins or our own SIMPLYFAST for Bike chain lubricants, rubbing onto the surface of a chain only creates a flaky mess.
Without heat, we instruct that CUBE should only be applied on the inside of the chain, as the pressure from the cassette and crank teeth push the lubricant into the chain.
When using the Hot Melt System, we recommend rubbing CUBE on both the inside and outside of the chain (top and bottom, not the sides-see photos) to get penetration of the lubricants into the plates and rollers when heat is applied. Let the wax cool and harden for about 5-8 minutes, and you are ready to ride!
CUBE with heat will reactivate residual base wax, while providing you with a freshly waxed chain that is smooth, clean and very quiet! Users report obtaining 200-250 miles of top performance with CUBE with the heat gun application.
Your CUBE with HEAT GUN package ships with a mini-heat gun, plus 4 x 50 G. CUBE wax blocks, enough lubricant to last the average rider a very long time!
IMPORTANT: use proper safety equipment. To be applied only by adults. Follow all directions including wearing cotton or leather gloves for heat protection, a long sleeve shirt, and always use eye protection. See full instructions under the instructions heading.
Bicycle must be securely supported in a work stand or similar to prevent bike from moving during application. Do not apply if any part of the bicycle is moving. When working on E-Bikes, you must remove the battery prior to using CUBE.
Heat gun produces a small area of very high heat,(500 degrees or more) capable of burning the skin or damaging frame / components if mis-used. User is responsible for the proper use and operation of the heat element which requires careful use and adult application.
